Classroom guidance was established in Oct 2010. It was primarily set up to fill a gap that existed in available resources for teachers of Vocational Preparation & Guidance in the Leaving Cert. Applied.

Since then, the need to develop similar Guidance resources for use in classrooms from 1st to 6th year and QQI became apparent, as Guidance professionals from all parts of Ireland began enquiring about the availability of resources for other areas in the Guidance curriculum.

With the introduction of digital projectors and computers into the classroom the use of PowerPoint presentations became an obvious solution to engage students. To avoid “Death by PowerPoint Syndrome” relevant and entertaining video clips were embedded to give the lessons a different edge. To compliment these presentations a Learner’s Record is required for each student. The Learner’s Record is an essential part of this method of teaching as it keeps the student on task and organised.

This web site, developed as a portal for Guidance professionals wanting to introduce a multi-media approach into their classes, will be frequently updated as soon as new modules are developed and Guidance professionals will be made aware of this via email. If you are not already on our mailing list and would like to be, please send us your details to info@classroomguidance.ie

The classroom is a huge opportunity to have a positive and inspiring affect on our students. The purpose of Classroom Guidance is to provide dynamic resources that will improve the working life of both the guidance counselor and student.
